Angola
has one of the most
important reserves of oil, Gas and Diamonds of Africa. In its seas
inhabit important maritime species and its climate is favourable to a
great variety of cultures. The numerous water courses that cover the
country offer excellent possibilities of irrigation and confer an
interesting hydroelectric-power potential.
Oil and Natural Gas
The oil
constitutes the main support of the Angolan economy. This sector
represents more than 90% of the exportations of the country. Currently
the country is the bigger producer of oil of subsaharian Africa with
proven reserves of 3.1 billions of barrels, and estimates for
discovering of 1.9 billions of barrels. The main reserves of oil are
located in the Province of Cabinda and at the north Coast between the
Soyo and Quinzau.

DiamonDs
After
the oil, the diamonds constitute the main product that Angola exports.
The main diamond reserves are located in the Northeast of the country,
region where the product knows great pureness and excellent quality.
In fact, more than 70% of discovered diamonds are of great quality,
which has conferred to the country the right to
appear between the main countries producers. A bigger part of diamonds
is extracted in the valley of the Cuango.

But the
Angolan subsoil is equally rich in other minerals:

Iron - Can be found in the provinces of Malange, Bié, Huambo, Huíla
and Kwanza-North.
§ Phosphate
– The phosphate
reserves are valued in 150 million tons and can
be found in the provinces of Cabinda, Zaire and Bengo.
§
Marble, black granite and quartz – Can be found in the Southeast of
the country, in the
provinces of Namibe and Huíla.
§
Uranium – The deposits of Uranium are located close to the border with
the Namibia
